Man is the only animal who kills and ill-treats animals for his own pleasure. He kills these creatures for his greed , for entertainment and even for decorations. He is destroying its habitat by ruthlessly chopping down forests as a result these helpless creatures enter cities. Many parts of their body are openly sold in the market and there is a huge demand for them they are the creatures on which scientist do experiments , mutilate and decapitate their bodies. Due to these horrible tortures poor creatures die a premature , unnatural and painful death. This is one of the prominent causes of extinction of animals. Many of these are already extinct and several are endangered.For them humans are dungeons of death. When we buy an animal we play with it but after few days these pets do not get proper care , food and we ignore them. Even in zoo , cages are not clean , the food is stale and as a result, animals become ill. These zoo’s act like a jail for animals. They have to stay behind bars for the entertainment of the people. Gandhiji said ,”The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.”Almost 2 million animals are killed every year just for their fur , experiment and decoration. In Spain animal exploitation is quite common. Their national sport , BULLFIGHTING is a blood game , criticized by all animal rights organisations. It is a torturous death for a bull. Even TORO EMBALDO a festival in Spain is also associated with inhumane treatment towards animals. In this festival , balls of pitch are attached to bull’s horn and are set on fire. The bull runs helter-skelter to douse the fire which can even burn its eyes , horns or skin. Due to this , many countries have made laws to minimize animal slaughter. Organisations like PETA and SPCA have stepped up to prevent this callous nature towards these creatures. We can do our bit by – not buying animal products , treating pets with care and helping abandoned or a sick animal. Government has also opened sancturies and national parks where these animals are under protection from poachers.So –
