Illeffects of War

A war is a state of armed conflict between different countries or different groups in a society on the basis of religion , natural resources , land , power , enmity etc. Wars occur due to human greed and intolerance. The synonyms of war are destruction and devastation. History of mankind clarifies that wars have been there since prehistoric times. Man believes that the solution to resolve a problem is war. People say that wars are the law of nature but such people forget that wars always bring mass scale destruction. Infrastructure , Residential areas , hospitals all are destroyed. This catastrophe is accompanied by loss of human life on a very large scale. They are a threat to the daily existence of the innocent civilians and the population gets displaced. In the ongoing war in Syria , Jordan has spent more than $10.3 billion hosting Syrian refugees. It is estimated that over 120 million people died in WW1 and WW2. Wars disturb the common mans life and create a second hell on Earth. The natural resources are also destroyed and the pollution is increased. Trees are cut to build weapons and essential commodities . Children lose their childhood and are deprived of education. Wars create a nation of crippled people and a generation is lost forever. The country regresses and people become traumatized and stressed. War is the worst scar on the face of humanity. It promotes cruelty and kills the noble instinct of man. This blot on humanity creates shortage of everything and has a n epidemic effect. People suffer from incurable diseases and the crops are destroyed. The prices of essential commodities sky rocket and drinking water gets contaminated. The sky scrapers are razed to ground in a twinkling of an eye. There is widespread political and economic instability. There is colossal loss of trade and commerce. It is written in Holy Quran –

Oh mankind! We created you from a single pair,
And you into nations and tribes,
That you may know each other,
Not that you despise each other
.

In modern times due to chemical and biological warfare , it takes decades to rebuild infrastructure and economy of a nation. The tragedy of war is it uses man’s best to do man’s worst. John F. Kennedy has said ,”Mankind must put an end to war before war puts an end to mankind.” The entire responsibility falls on man’s shoulders. It is really strange that the aim of war is peace. Peace is the breath of god while war is the  drone of  devil. Our aim should be to build bridges not walls and spread harmony and peace. Man must understand that nothing is gained by war. It is said,”War can’t kill love but love can kill war.” This proved by Mahatama Gandhi who freed the nation from shackles of bondage by ousting Britishers by non-violence and love. Everyone should try to follow the same foot prints and create our earth a better place to live in . It is said,”War is never good , peace is never bad.”
