The South Asian neighbours , India and China have had great Economic as well as Cultural relations which date back to the ancient times. Both the countries gained their independence around the same time after arduous struggle and Ever since their independence , both the countries have seen growth in their bilateral relationship. The two are the most populous and fastest growing economies of the world. But in this race of attaining global power , the two nuclear states have often found themselves against each other. There have been many border disputes between the two himalayan neighbours which have soared the tension between them.
The Line of Actual Control or the LAC is a demarcation line which separates the two sides. But this line has remained a dispute at some regions. Both countries have established claims over each others territory and have stationed heavy military around the region. The two powers have already fought a War in 1962 known as the Sino-Indian War.
The forces of the two countries have once again come face to face in the Ladakh region. Both the countries troops have been involved in aggressive skirmishes with injuries on both sides. The tensions reached their pinnacle as on 15 June an Indian patrol band was ambushed by the Chinese soldiers which resulted in the death of 20 Indian Soldiers. Since then, there have been many diplomatic talks at all levels to de-escalate the situation. This blood bath was the worst since 1967 and first since 1975.
Since this untoward incident , tempers have been boiling on the Indian side as there were calls to boycott Chinese products. The government decided to ban 59 Chinese apps on the charge that they were sharing information with the Chinese government. The government has also decided to cancel all infrastructural projects handed to the Chinese firms.
If the two nations opt for a war , it would be highly detrimental to the diplomatic relations of the two countries and the economic activities of the world. Moreover it was very foolish and unnecessary from the Dragon to pick up a fight from its South Asian neighbour as it already faces flak from all around the globe for the spread of the Novel Coronavirus.
