The UEFA European Championship is a competition contested by teams of European Football Association determining the continental champion of Europe. The competition is held every four years since 1960, except 2020 as the tournament was postponed in view of the pandemic. The 15 editions of the championship have been won by 10 national teams and is the second most watched tournament in the world. Portugal go into the tournament as the title defenders. The first edition of the tournament was held in France and was won by the Soviet Union. The tournament has also produced underdog stories like in 2004 , Greece won the tournament when it was given the odds 150-1 in the beginning of the tournament.
